Job Description

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Do you have compassion and a passion to help and work with At-Risk Youth and Young Adults? The Bilingual (Spanish) Youth Facilitator is responsible for the overall development, operation, and coordination of the educational components of the Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP), Sexual Risk Avoidance Education program (SRAE), and many new programs to come. We currently partner with many schools throughout the DFW area. Incumbent of position ensures curricula are accurate, age appropriate, and taught with fidelity. Oversees and assists with program participant recruitment, training, and supervision of classroom. Will work closely with at-risk youth from middle school to high school in low income, alternative, and different school districts that we may partner with for or during the school year.

Scope of Work Summary:
This position is a very exciting opportunity for an individual that will be committed to teaching an evidenced-based life skills curriculum that includes abstinence from all risky behaviors. The Education Facilitator is responsible for teaching adolescent and adult education both in school, community and faith based settings through utilizing a evidence based curriculum and other positive youth and family education curriculum education. Duties include, but are not limited to: Teaching curriculums and facilitating role play activities as outlined in the curriculum facilitate parent education workshops and other alternative activities such as community service learning projects and life skills classes and other duties as assigned. Implement age-appropriate education for youth using predetermined curriculum. Plan and implement education and alcohol, tobacco, drug and violence presentations for schools and community. Assist with recruitment of program participants and partner sites Assist the students enrolled in the program with planning, coordinating and implementation of the community service learning projects. Attend weekly staff meetings with key personnel. Assist with planning, coordinating and implementation of specific program parent/family education presentations and workshops. Maintain accurate records of all data from programs completed by the participants and monitor progress while addressing the special needs of participants. Assist in the preparation of the semi- annual program activity progress reports as scheduled. Maintain a clean and organized classroom as well as common areas. Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces the diversity of all participants. Serve as a positive role model for participants. Follow CDC Guidelines to maintain a safe working environment Attend ongoing Technical Assistance Trainings that are provided by curricula developers, Seasons of Change Other task as assigned
Qualifications:
Associates Degree preferred or two years paid experience teaching in public or private education, educational interventions or prevention education Experience working with youth, age 10-18 and adults of all ages. Ability to comply with all programs, local, state and federal policies pertaining to the Project. Ability to respect the confidentially of program clients as well as staff. Highly effective communication skills, both verbal and skills. Organized and able to manage time effectively and independently. The ability to work effectively with diverse ethnic groups and high-risk populations. Computer skills with Microsoft Word software. Ability to work a flexible 8 hour schedule including some evenings and weekends. Performs all other responsibilities assigned by the Program Director. Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
