Regulatory Efficiency Program Specialist - Austin, Texas The Office of the Governor is looking to fill three positions for a Regulatory Efficiency Program Specialist (Program Specialist IV-VI) to work in the newly established Texas Regulatory Efficiency Office. Who We Are The Office of the Governor works to build a healthier, safer, freer, and more prosperous future for all Texans. We are located primarily within the Texas State Capitol Complex in Austin. What You'll Earn The salary is $6,250.00 - $7,916.67 a month ($75,000.00 - $95,000.04 a year). Benefits include medical insurance, sick leave, and vacation leave. Also, State of Texas employees are eligible for a defined retirement plan.

https://www.ers.texas.gov/Active-Employees/Health-Benefits What You'll Do This position performs highly complex to highly advanced (senior-level) consultative services and technical assistance work. Work involves planning, developing, and implementing divisional programs and providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, government agencies, and/or the general public.
  • Develops and administers programs for the Office, as assigned.
  • Performs an array of technical, training, research, planning, program assessment, and administrative activities for the Office, as assigned.
  • Coordinates and collaborates with program staff in program planning, development, implementation, analysis, and documentation of divisional programs.
  • Consults with state agencies to gather data and discuss program effectiveness.
  • Evaluates research findings relative to specific projects being developed.
  • Analyzes performance data to help ensure compliance with program policies and procedures, statutes, and rules; and recommends corrective action(s) as needed.
  • Monitors and reviews compliance with requirements, laws, regulations, policies, and procedures for divisional programs.
  • Develops program policies, procedures, standards, and manuals in accordance with program objectives and goals.
  • Provides guidance to staff in the development and integration of new methods and procedures.
  • Develops and implements effective techniques for evaluating agency programs.
  • Ensures thorough completion of data and well-organized recordkeeping, including electronic and/or hardcopy formats.
  • May complete and monitor required administrative and performance reports, studies, and specialized projects; and recommend appropriate changes to programs. How You'll Qualify Program Specialist IV
  • High school graduate or equivalent; and
  • Four (4) years of professional experience in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, political science, public administration, or a related field. Program Specialist V
  • High school graduate or equivalent; and
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, political science, public administration, or a related field. Program Specialist VI
  • High school graduate or equivalent; and
  • Six (6) years of professional experience in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, political science, public administration, or a related field.

Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis. Salary and position level will be based on experience and demonstrated skills.
