Job Description

TITLE:
ASSISTANT SITE DIRECTOR PART-TIME POSITION
30+ hours/week
HOURS OF OPERATION
Monday - Friday (some weekends as needed)
After-School Program Hours:
Monday 12:00 pm-7:00pm, Tuesday - Friday 1:00pm-7:00pm
Summer Program Hours:
7am-4pm
PAY:
$12 per hour
FLSA Status :
Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO
Program Director Primary Function:
Responsible for overseeing the delivery of a broad range of core programs within a designated Club, including education and career development, sports, fitness and recreation, arts, character and leadership development, and health and life skills. Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities): Leadership
  • Monitor and evaluate situations quickly, using good judgment to make decisions and take appropriate action.
  • Convey caring and proper guidance in ongoing interactions with members, parents, and staff that demonstrate responsiveness and connectedness by creating a positive environment.
  • Assists Site Director with discipline and guidance procedures to ensure consistency in the rules and expectations throughout the Club Strategic Planning
  • Work closely with Program Director to meet goals and deadlines for grants, programs and targeted outcomes
  • Oversee proper record-keeping and reporting, including activities and events, member participation, notable achievements, and any problems/issues. Resource Management
  • Plans, develops, oversees implementation, and supervises programs and performs program-related administrative duties.
  • Work closely with the Site Director regarding the program's planning and implementation and the individual site's goals/vision.
  • Oversee the implementation and delivery of daily programs, services, and activities that facilitate achieving the organization's program goals and outcomes including, but not limited to Special Programs like OJJDP, TEXSYN, #futurestrong, and Parent's Night Out.
  • Manage the Club's financial literacy program known as "the Club Bucks Store" by tracking club bucks members earn, purchasing new inventory, and organizing and displaying items for sale in "the Club Bucks Store"
  • Effectively evaluate programs and make program recommendations or changes based on the success of the programs
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work with staff on special events to carry out programs in all departments
  • Check inner communications (i.e. Email & Teams) & voicemails daily
  • Assume other duties as assigned
Relationships:
    Internal:
    Maintains close daily contact with Club professional staff to interpret and explain organizational mission, program objectives and standards, discuss issues, and provide/receive information. Has regular contact with members as needed to discipline, advise, and counsel.
      External:
      Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems and to publicize Club.
      SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
      • Two years' experience in facilitating, developing and implementing programs for youth, and at least 1 year's staff supervisory experience
      • Experience in facilitating, developing, and implementing youth development programs
      • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
      • Passion for youth development and the mission of the organization
      • Ability to communicate effectively with young people from diverse and high-risk backgrounds, ages 6+, parents, and other organizational personnel in a courteous and professional manner
      • Ability to deal effectively with multi-age children, small groups of children in activities and free play, and large groups of children in organized activities
      • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire
      • Ability to work independently and efficiently
      • Must be able to problem-solve, troubleshoot, use reflective thinking, and the ability to work as a member of a dynamic team
      • Experience in cash handling and payment processing
      • Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record to transport passengers ages 6-18 from our Club sites and on field trips
      • Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, & holidays
      • College hours/degree field (optional)
      • Must pass National Criminal Background Check
      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
      Ability to sit/stand/walk for extended periods of time. Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
