Coordinate and support district bilingual and English as a Second Language (ESL) program compliance, student services, and instructional programming to ensure alignment with federal, state, and local requirements. Provide guidance and support to campuses regarding identification, placement, monitoring, language acquisition support, Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) processes, and program implementation for Emergent Bilingual students.Qualifications:
Education and Certification Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Master's degree (preferred) Valid Texas teaching certificate with ESL certification/endorsement Bilingual certification (preferred) Experience Three (3) years of teaching experience supporting Emergent Bilingual students in bilingual or ESL program settings Leadership experience supporting bilingual, dual language, or ESL programs (preferred) Knowledge and Skills Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements related to bilingual and ESL program compliance Comprehensive knowledge of LPAC procedures, language acquisition support, and instructional practices for Emergent Bilingual students Working knowledge of assessment, accountability, and instructional support systems related to bilingual and ESL programs Advanced organizational and program coordination skills to support districtwide bilingual and ESL initiatives Advanced verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Advanced skills in analyzing data, interpreting policy, and supporting program implementation and continuous improvement Advanced skills in planning and delivering professional development related to bilingual and ESL programs Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff in both English and Spanish Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with district staff, campus personnel, parents, and community stakeholdersKey Responsibilities:
Program Compliance & LPAC Support Coordinate procedures related to identification, placement, services, monitoring, and exiting of students in bilingual, dual language, and ESL programs, including review of student data and language proficiency testing. Ensure campuses maintain compliant LPAC documentation, digital records, and student folders in accordance with federal, state, and district requirements. Audit bilingual andESL LPAC
records and documentation for accuracy and compliance. Compile, maintain, and securely store physical and electronic reports, records, and required documentation. Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, and Denton ISD policies related to bilingual and ESL programs. Instructional Support & Program Implementation Assist administrators and teachers in providing appropriate instructional services and linguistic accommodations for Emergent Bilingual students through the LPAC process. Support campuses in implementation of bilingual, dual language, and ESL instructional programs to meet the academic and linguistic needs of Emergent Bilingual students. Develop and coordinate ongoing evaluation of bilingual and ESL programs to support continuous improvement and compliance with program requirements. Assist with coordination and articulation of bilingual and ESL services between elementary and secondary campuses through ongoing collaboration with district and campus leaders. Assist in collecting and analyzing program and assessment data to evaluate student performance and support recommendations for program improvements and instructional adjustments. Share assessment results, program updates, and instructional resources with district and campus staff as appropriate. Professional Development & Collaboration Develop, coordinate, and facilitate professional development related to LPAC processes, bilingual and ESL compliance, and instructional support for Emergent Bilingual students. Collaborate with district staff, campus administrators, teachers, and other stakeholders to support bilingual and ESL program implementation and student success. Work collaboratively with district departments, campus staff, and instructional teams to support district initiatives and program goals. Parent & Community Engagement Promote parent and community understanding of bilingual and ESL programs and encourage participation in program opportunities and services. Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and community members regarding bilingual and ESL program goals, expectations, and initiatives. Plan and conduct parent meetings, including parent advisory committee meetings and LPAC review meetings.Additional Responsibilities:
Adhere to all district policies, procedures, and expectations as outlined in the employee handbook and administrative regulations. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Participate in professional development, faculty/department meetings, and special events as assigned.
