POSITION
Primary Prevention Coordinator
SUPERVISOR
Community Relations Director STATUS:
Full time
SCOPE OF DUTIES
The Primary Prevention Coordinator (PPC) is responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of CASFV's sexual violence primary prevention programming. The PPC oversees and implements prevention programming components including educational programming and efforts to engage youth, adults, and the community as a whole in efforts to prevent sexual violence by addressing its root causes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
    Program Administration:
    o Participate in strategic planning for overall primary prevention growth and development in collaboration with Community Relations Director and other CASFV management staff o Supervise and support Primary Prevention Facilitator and any program volunteers
    Including:
    supervising data input, providing access and support for prevention staff to cultivate relationships with other prevention workers and allied professionals throughout the state o Participate in professional development (trainings, conferences, etc.), with in-state travel 1 - 3 times a year and out-of-state travel 0 - 1 times a year. This training will include CASFV's 5 day training that covers the dynamics of sexual assault, domestic violence, and related topics o Build relationships with other allied professionals across the field of sexual violence prevention to learn about best practices and create support networks
      Program Facilitation:
      o Assess the needs of the community in which prevention programming will be implemented, as well as the needs of underserved populations within that community, through outreach and research to effectively meet their diverse needs o Facilitate educational seminars or presentations and professional/community trainings with youth (ages 13 - 19) and adults, including providing professional training and development to CASFV's volunteers and staff o Work with community members and organizations where prevention programming is being implemented to use community change strategies such as coalition building, policy education, social norms change, and/or community mobilization efforts. o Participate in coalition meetings with local community stakeholders
      • Data Collection and Program Evaluation o Develop and implement tools to evaluate prevention programming (qualitatively and quantitatively) o Continuously analyze and improve programming by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on that information o Submit monthly reports on programmatic progress to CASFV management team and submit quarterly reports on programmatic progress to program funders
      MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS
      Education and/or experience facilitating multi-session educational sessions and/or professional trainings with populations similar to the participants in agency prevention programming. Education and/or experience related to administering program evaluation tools. This position requires significant in-town driving (with mileage reimbursement), so applicant must have a current driver's license and vehicle.
      EDUCATION AND TRAINING
      Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Social Sciences or a related field preferred, but not required. Relevant experience in a similar field may be considered in lieu of a degree.
      SKILLS:
      • An understanding of and empathy for survivors or sexual assault and abuse, experience with sexual violence programming preferred
      • Demonstrated efforts in working in partnership with diverse communities
      • Education and/or experience related to engaging individuals and organizations in coalition building, social norms change, or community mobilization efforts
      • Strong background in, understanding of, and willingness to learn about social justice issues
      • Experience developing, implementing, and/or evaluating curriculum-based or community engagement programming, experience with sexual violence programming preferred
      • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. MUST be comfortable with public speaking
      • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines and multiple program activities at one time
      • Strong and ethical communication and relationship building and maintenance skills
      • Computer skills, particularly comfort with entering data sets in Excel
      • Strong interpersonal skills
      • Good sense of judgement
      • An understanding of how one's actions and responses when out in the community are representative of the agency and the primary prevention program
      • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
      Physical Requirements:
      Lifting and Bending:
      This position requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 25-40 pounds as needed. The employee must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and move about to access equipment, supplies, and other work materials. Tasks may occasionally require standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods, as well as safely handling and positioning equipment in compliance with workplace safety standards. This is a grant-funded position. While we will be applying for funding and CASFV is committed to primary prevention programming, there is no guarantee of funding beyond this contract.       $19.23 per hour
