Description Job Summary Plans and coordinates the development of district curriculum, curriculum based assessment items, resource selection/calibration, and professional learning in the appropriate content area using curriculum audit standards to ensure strict alignment to state curriculum and assessment standards; provides assistance to both principals and teachers in identifying and solving curriculum delivery problems; directs and coordinates assigned instructional program delivery in assigned content area; and all other duties as assigned. Minimum Education, Experience and Certification Masters Degree Four years successful experience as a Career and Technical Education teacher Supervisory, Mid-management or Principal Certificate Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities Assist Director of Career & Technical Education in planning, coordinating and evaluating CTE curriculum materials and instructional programs. Provide leadership for curriculum development, revision, implementation and evaluation. Develop curriculum-based assessments for district-wide use. Provide leadership in aligning CTE curriculum documents and materials to TEKS and state assessment standards including other testing programs. Work in collaboration with the CTE Director to ensure the writing, editing, production and distribution of curriculum documents through Canvas and Google complies with district requirements. Coordinate the purchase and distribution of materials for all CTE professional staff in the respective content area. Develop and maintain a scope and sequence of learning standards/objectives based on
CTE TEKS.
Maintain a list of required, recommended and suggested resources to support assigned curriculum content/courses. Supports CTE laboratory safety inspection, safety supply purchases and OSHA compliance. Provide training in strategies and structures relative to the curriculum content. Assists in curriculum development and updating curricula/standards/certifications for CTE. Provide instructional support, curriculum development and program recruitment. Coordinate CTE/Special Services, in collaboration with high school Special Education coordinator, to provide services for students with special needs. Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations (including Board policies) related to the area of supervision. Evaluate and report progress on curriculum-related initiatives, programs, or projects. Review curriculum, research, explore initiatives, and develop and share strategies to raise levels of student achievement, specifically with CCMR Accountability in completing CTE Career Pathways. Collaborate with the Instructional Technology Specialists to integrate technology with instruction in CTE. Collaborate with the CTE instructional staff in planning and achieving departmental and district goals. Respond to curriculum-related questions and concerns from parents, students, staff and others in the community. Coordinate and lead the textbook adoption process in specific and related content areas. Coordinate and assist with post-secondary linkages, business and industry linkages, business partnerships, work- based learning and paid and unpaid internships. Coordinate dual credit and dual enrollment CTE coursework with post-secondary partners. Coordinate and assist with local and district CTSO competitions in specific and related content areas. Assist in the development of new courses and/or programs as requested. Assist in planning and administering orientation and professional learning activities for new teachers and experienced staff members. Assist in the orientation of teachers and administrators to new or revised instructional programs. Assist and confer regularly with new teachers during their induction year. Develop curriculum for summer instructional programs. Coordinate CTE activities and services to parents, students, district personnel, and the community.
