As the foremost thought leader on industry self-regulation, we are shaping the way that businesses and consumers interact with one another. We are the home to more than a dozen self-regulation programs that set high standards for businesses and provide third-party accountability and dispute resolution services that help ensure a fair marketplace for consumers. BBB National Programs has worked with industry leaders and government regulatory agencies since 1971 to establish the standards that guide best practices in advertising, privacy, children's and teen's marketing, consumer warranty issues, and dispute resolution.

ABOUT OUR GLOBAL PRIVACY INITIATIVES

Through our global privacy initiatives, BBB National Programs works with individual companies, industry groups, and regulators to develop, monitor, and enforce robust privacy standards, drive the adoption of unified privacy practices, facilitate consumer education and choice, and offer consumers accessible privacy dispute resolution. Our trusted privacy programs are tailored to respond to the unique privacy challenges presented by specific data types, like sensitive precise location data, children's data, or use cases, such as leveraging cloud services, AI, emerging technologies and cross-border transfers.

YOUR IMPACT

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Researching state, federal, and international privacy laws, policies, and regulations, and writing blogs and building infographics, using the research conducted. Reviewing FTC enforcement orders and policy statements for impact on programs and drafting policy or legal analysis of impact on the Privacy Initiatives team's programs. Conducts reviews of applicant certification documentation or privacy policies, assisting applicants in meeting all DPF, Cross Border Privacy Rules, and other BBB National Programs' program requirements Supporting program operations by updating accurate records of applicants and participating businesses by updating company data in appropriate spreadsheets and databases and supporting follow-up communications with companies, upon request. Work with the DPF team to support the screening of new applications to the

program, conducting initial reviews of posted privacy policies and other materials to check for eligibility. Provide thought leadership on trends, observations, and developments to support a forward-looking outlook for the program. Provide support through decks, memos, blogs, and other written materials to senior leaders in the Privacy Initiatives program
