$21.00 per hour

September 15 - October 22, 2026 Opportunity for Spring Seasonal Rehire (April) About Us Otters Den Nature School is a nonprofit outdoor learning program dedicated to connecting children with nature through hands-on environmental education. We provide engaging after-school experiences that foster curiosity, confidence, social-emotional growth, and environmental stewardship. Position Summary We're looking for an enthusiastic educator who enjoys working outdoors with elementary-aged children. The Program Educator leads nature-based lessons, games, hikes, and science activities while creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Responsibilities Lead outdoor education activities for students in grades 3-5. Teach environmental science and nature-based lessons. Foster teamwork, curiosity, and environmental stewardship. Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment. Collaborate with the Program Director on lesson preparation and student support.

Qualifications Required:

At least 18 years old High school diploma or equivalent Nature-based education/training (minimum 10 hours or one college credit) Experience working with children in education, camps, childcare, or outdoor recreation Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred:

Environmental education experience Spanish language skills Experience supporting children with diverse learning needs Why Join Otters Den?
