Opportunity Description South Seattle College is looking to hire a Student Activities Program Specialist (Program Specialist 2) in the Student Life Department . Full Salary Range for this position is $47,280
- $61,512 annually. Please note that initial salary placement for this position is typically between $51,900
- $54,432.

What you will be working on: You'll advise and support student clubs and organizations by coordinating, training, and guiding student leaders and advisors in event planning, budgeting, policies, and program development, including meeting one-on-one with student leaders to provide individualized support. You'll serve as a resource for students seeking to start and manage clubs, supporting all aspects of club operations including event planning, marketing, budgeting, contract processes, and use of campus facilities and equipment. You'll plan, coordinate, and execute a wide range of student engagement opportunities, including workshops, trainings, cultural events, New Student Welcome activities, Club Fairs, Resource Fairs, End-of-the-Quarter De-Stress Days, and other assigned programs. You'll collaborate with student life advisors, Student Services staff, and campus partners to develop and deliver inclusive, engaging programming, including large-scale campus events such as Halloween, Lunar New Year, Spring Fling, and Grad Fair. You'll supervise student staff and oversee budgets associated with the Clubs and Activities Board. You'll manage and maintain the Club Center space to ensure it is welcoming, functional, and supportive of student engagement. Develop annual budget proposal for submission to S&A budget committee, monitor subsequent budget as allocated, and maintaining effective records. You'll create and maintain systems to provide campus-wide information regarding student activities, events, and opportunities, including coordinating a campus-wide student activities calendar. You'll advance equitable student success by fostering inclusive programming, demonstrating cultural humility, and supporting initiatives that close equity gaps. You'll participate in shared governance and contribute to institutional efforts that promote access, retention, and success for historically marginalized students and employees. What you bring as a candidate: Bachelor's Degree in social sciences, education, human services or related field Two to four years experiences in event planning, planning and evaluating large scale programs within higher education, customer service work, and working with diverse student populations Demonstrated experience training and supervising student employees and/or volunteers Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionality, collaboratively, and cooperatively within a diverse community Demonstrated experience providing excellent marketing and communication skills to effectively communicate to students, faculty, and staff Working knowledge and strong understanding of Student Development Theory and Practice Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, social media platforms, and relevant technology Physical Demands and Disability Accommodation Persons with disabilities have the right to reasonable accommodation in all aspects of employment with Seattle Colleges.
