This position is loced the ANG Wing with/or without geographically separed units (GSU)/ ARNG Region loced in a Ste th is divided into multiple regions (within the Ste) not servicing one specific BDE. This position serves as the implementer of the Integred Primary Prevention (IPP) Program. Due to the specialty nure of these roles this position reports to the Joint Force Headquarter Primary Prevention Officer. The primary purpose of this position is to implement and support integred prevention programs. It collaborively identifies, implements, and assesses public health-informed and evidence-based prevention policy, practices, programs and processes. Supports healthy clime/culture to elimine harassment, sexual violence, family violence and self-directed harm using a public health perspective and socio-ecological theoretical lens. This involves an integred, multi-agency, and collaborive approach with other Wings/Regions, Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ), and local programs with a nexus to integred primary prevention (IPP) efforts.
MAJOR DUTIES
1. Serves as the point of contact for harm and abuse prevention programs and activities; provides program coordinion and serves as the subject mter expert for the Wing/Region IPP program. Serves as the Primary Prevention Integror (PPI) managing all aspects of a complex integred primary prevention program (P3) for the Wing/Region. Serves as the Wing/Region point of contact for the suicide prevention program, workplace and domestic violence programs in a non-clinical primary prevention, here after referred to as prevention, role in coordinion with applicable offices and community agencies. Delivers initial prevention activities, averting harm or abuse before it occurs. Identifies risk and protective factors th lead to or protect against unhealthy or unsafe behaviors. Promotes actions to mitige environmental factors. Examines and interprets populion da from the Wing/Region. Interprets S/T/DC policies and guidance to develop Wing/Region specific policy, plans, objectives and guidance for the operion of local P3. Coordines the implemention and coordinion of all such activities a local level. 2. Supports inter- and intra-personal violence prevention efforts and programming through the Wing/regional leadership advisory committees, boards and working groups. Represents their populion's integred prevention efforts as a member of leadership advisory committees, boards and working groups. Serves as the Wing/Region liaison for local military and civilian agencies to promote timely informion exchange, coordine collaborive prevention efforts, and establish resource links and community partnerships. Incorpores comprehensive stregies to enhance community strengths, address broad-based community needs, suggest community problem solving methods, and forge community connections. Establishes networking, advocacy, and collaborion processes through which to promote IPP to the community. Ensures curriculums and community intervention initiives for each P3 are research-based and supported by the evidence. Attends relevant community committee meetings to provide input and obtain informion reled to prevention issues. 4. Responsible for developing and overseeing healthy clime, resiliency, risk reduction activities, trainings, and communicion campaigns within the Wing/Region. Advises Wing/Region commanders in communicing prevention plans and programs to subordine units. Responsible for adopting JFHQ's activities and communicion campaigns and overseeing the implemention of JFHQ's IPP stregy within communities in proximity to Units. Serves as consultant and advisor on prevention communicions, programming, planning, and processes. Formules stregies to genere interest, acceptance, and participion by unit leadership, regional community consumers, resource suppliers, and relevant personnel on prevention activities for the general populion. 5. Recruits, trains, and facilites military volunteers for prevention activity implemention. Provides technical oversight to service members (DSG/M-Day) within the Wing/Region who are assigned to perform integred prevention activities the Unit level. Conducts trainings around prevention activities, processes, and planning. Oversees military volunteers who are supporting the implemention of the program to ensure fidelity.
