Job Description
Position Overview Provide high-quality advancement and enrichment experiences for Justice National Scout Camp guests in a summer camp setting by facilitating and contributing to fun, safe, and engaging programs. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership to the setup, operation, and takedown of Justice National Scout Camp program areas Assist in training and management of the area director team to deliver safe, relevant, and engaging programs Support merit badge sessions and program areas, especially during program operations Coach and counsel staff members to build and maintain an effective team Assist with merit badge and program progress input in the online advancement application Provide leadership to and participate in camp-wide programs and activities Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook Qualifications Minimum age: 18+ Comfortable speaking and presenting in front of youth and adults Previous Scouting/Summit experience strongly preferred, with experience coaching and leading teams is a plus National Camping School Resident Program Director certification considered a plus Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening) Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication PhysicalPractical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and hike, up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record , including height/weight guidelines
