Job Description
About us Family Crisis Center, Inc. is non profit organization that serves Mineral, Grant, Hardy, Hampshire, and Pendleton Counties of WV. We serve victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, dating violence, and human trafficking. We are looking for compassionate and dedicated individuals who are ready to advocate for the right of all people to live free from sexual violence, stalking, and human trafficking. The person in this position will play a crucial role in empowering survivors, ensuring their rights are upheld, and will assist them in the healing process. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in getting things done independently and successfully, will proactively take on new challenges and responsibilities, be highly organized, and seriously dedicated to the healing of sexual violence and changing the society's perspective and stigma. This is a full-time Monday - Friday position with some on call time.
Duties include:
Crisis intervention, advocacy, information and referrals, safety planning, outreach and awareness, documentation and reporting, collaboration and networking, professional development You might be a good fit if: You are passionate about the anti-sexual violence movement and what we do. You have empathy, compassion, and sensitivity to the needs and experiences of survivors. You have a degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a human service related field or an education combination with experience. You have experience working with survivors of sexual assault or trauma, preferably in an advocacy or counseling capacity. You have knowledge of trauma-informed care, the dynamics of sexual violence, and the impact of trauma on survivors. You have excellent communication and active listening skills to establish trust and rapport with survivors. You have well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment. You have experience and interest in working directly with people from different racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. You are organized and motivated, capable of managing deadlines and fluctuating priorities for an array of projects, while maintaining attention to detail. You can travel for trainings; some overnight. You can pass a background check and have dependable transportation.Job Type:
