JOB TITLE
Summer High School Institute Program Coordinator
JOB PURPOSE
The role of the program coordinator (PC) is to live in the dorms with the students, supervise the minors on campus, and organize programming throughout the 3-week Institute. The PCs will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and management of the UW Summer High School Institute (HSI) by providing student support, non-academic programming, first response for health and related issues, and reporting these issues to the head PC and program director. The PCs will be making frequent and recurrent independent judgment calls on matters of significance to the student's well-being and the program. They will be responsible for driving students to academic and non-academic excursions and supervising them throughout these events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
PC responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Provide a safe, secure, and happy environment for HSI students Work with other team members to plan and coordinate the Institute's activities, trips and excursions Guide HSI students in participation of all activities, as well as provide emotional support and encouragement Supervise HSI students and activities at all times Staff the residence hall, day and night Provide transportation in our fleet of vans Be familiar with the special needs, medical conditions, dietary concerns and/or behavioral problems of the students and act accordingly Ensure the safety standards are maintained at all times Be a positive adult role model to HSI students and be available/accessible at all times Work as part of a team and participate in daily staff meetings Other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
PC's must have a bachelor's degree or be 21 years of age or older Extensive experience with adolescents in school or a camp setting or other related group leadership experience Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business
SAP . DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Some experience at UW preferred, and/or familiarity with the UW campus
