McClelland Consulting Engineers (MCE), an ESP Company, is a regional, multidisciplined engineering consulting firm with more than 160 employees throughout four offices in Little Rock, Fayetteville, Fort Smith, and Rogers. SummaryProject managers are first point of contact for any issues or discrepancies arising from within the heads of various departments. This position will be responsible for structural projects across Arkansas. The Structural Project Manager designs construction projects, such as, site design for new buildings, recreational facilities, trails, drainage and other site related projects. As the project manager of the team, you will manage planning, designing, and assists with lead management of a wide variety of projects. Mentoring entry and mid-level engineers within the department. This position is also responsible for developing the project budget. This position will serve as a key part of our team and will have the opportunity to work on challenging turnkey projects with an experienced design team.
ResponsibilitiesPlanning, development, implementation, and evaluation with the management of a wide variety of projectsProblem ResolutionDevelop construction documents for site development projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Construction documents sets include site plan, grading and drainage, utility, erosion control, plan sheets and applicable detailsComplete detailed stormwater analysis/designs that meet regulatory requirements/review authorities, maximize functionality of land and minimize overall construction costsManage the project team to develop and complete projects on time and on budgetComplete plan review comments from internal quality control process and from the agency review processPrepare written communications, applications, and reportsReview and implement municipal zoning ordinances, geotechnical reports, as well as state and federal codes to ensure project complianceWork in partnership with engineering staff to identify opportunities and constraints for development sites, assist in municipal meetings and submittals, and complete plan revisions as needed to obtain project approvalPreparing for, attending meetings with internal and external clientsComplete drainage analysis and design for land development related projects.
Must be willing to work in a team environmentMaintain a good rapport with regulatory agencies and review authorities.
QualificationsBachelors degree in structural engineering or related engineering fieldMust be Registered Professional Engineer in the State of ArkansasKnowledge of regulations, policies, and procedureThorough understanding of site planning and land developmentAutoCAD, Civil 3D, 3D modeling including grading plansShall have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of engineering.
Exercising independent judgmentInitiativeCreativityProblem solvingTime Management and PlanningStrong communication, writing, technical and analytical skillsMicrosoft OfficeCritical Thinking SkillsCandidates must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the companys driving (MVR) policy. PreferredAt least 5 years transferrable experienceTravelMost travel is limited to short or day trips to visit jobsites, meet clients, etc. Overnight trips are not generally required.
