The PM creates and maintains production documentation, aligns equipment assignments, schedules transport, and monitors shop logistics. As the fabrication lead, the PM partners with the shop team to track progress, costs, quality, and overall efficiency to deliver on time and within budget, meeting profitability targets. The PM serves as the primary customer point of contact, coordinating with site superintendents to align installation goals, and facilitates team evaluations and monthly performance meetings. Core Responsibilities Create and maintain the master production schedule with a targeted alignment to the installation forecast. Control project documentation across the lifecycle (cover sheets, shop build sheets, production checklists, RFIs, submittals, change orders, BOMs, nesting plans, RFQs, inventory control, field installation memos, status reports, and project metrics reports). Source, purchase, and maintain the established inventory control protocols. Coordinate logistics and vendor bookings (cranes/rigging, trucking, permits) in alignment with the Field Manager. Assemble complete shop build packages (fabrication/erection drawings as required, gather sheets, material nests, .dxf files, shop memos/exceptions). Facilitate weekly team huddles and monthly production meetings. Serve as primary customer contact for schedule/changes; provide concise updates to relative administration leadership. Strong reading of structural drawings/details and weld symbols; hands-on with RFIs, submittals, COs, and closeouts. Proven scheduling and cost control skills; disciplined documentation; clear customer communication. Work Conditions & Schedule Office/shop environment with periodic vendor visits; no field crew supervision. Ability to walk/stand in shop areas and occasionally lift/carry 25-35 lbs.
