Job Description

Robert Half is recruiting for an experienced Project Manager/ Consultant for our manufacturing client to lead the evaluation, selection, and relocation of operations to a new facility. This role will oversee all phases of the project, including site selection, facility planning, vendor management, construction coordination, equipment relocation, and operational readiness while minimizing business disruption. This interim opportunity will be located in Colton, CA onsite. ResponsibilitiesProject ManagementLead the relocation project from site identification through facility startup.

Develop and manage project plans, budgets, timelines, milestones, and risk mitigation strategies.

Provide regular updates to leadership and key stakeholders.

Ensure business continuity throughout the transition.

Site Selection & Facility PlanningPartner with commercial real estate brokers to identify and evaluate potential facilities.

Coordinate site tours, due diligence, lease negotiations, and facility selection activities.

Assess facility layouts, infrastructure, utilities, and operational requirements.

Relocation & OperationsOversee relocation of manufacturing equipment, inventory, office assets, and personnel.

Coordinate construction, facility upgrades, equipment installation, and operational startup.

Ensure utilities, security, telecommunications, and facility services are operational before occupancy.

Vendor & Budget ManagementManage contractors, moving companies, consultants, and service providers.

Obtain bids, negotiate contracts, and monitor vendor performance.

Track project budgets, expenditures, and cost saving opportunities.

Compliance & CommunicationEnsure compliance with permits, inspections, safety regulations, and occupancy requirements.

Serve as the primary liaison between leadership, employees, vendors, and external partners.

Maintain project documentation and facilitate regular project meetings.

QualificationsBachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

PMP certification ideal to have, but not required 5+ years of project management experience.

Experience leading facility relocations, manufacturing expansions, or large scale operational projects.

Experience working with commercial real estate brokers, contractors, and vendors.

Strong project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder management skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.

Preferred ExperienceManufacturing, industrial, distribution, or warehouse environments.

Facility relocation and equipment move projects.

Construction, remodeling, or facility improvement initiatives.

Success MeasuresNew facility identified and secured on schedule.

Project completed within budget.

Minimal operational downtime.

Successful equipment relocation and operational startup.

On time completion of key project milestones.

Effective coordination of vendors, contractors, and stakeholders.
