Job Description

Assistant Project Manager•Traffic Engineering (EIT/PE)
Location:
Diamond Bar (Hybrid Flexibility)
Compensation:
$45•65/hr + bonus potential A well-established, multidisciplinary engineering firm with a strong presence across Southern California is looking to bring on an Assistant Project Manager to support and help lead traffic-focused projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to step out of a purely technical role and grow into project leadership, client interaction, and team oversight. The firm has long-standing relationships with Caltrans, local agencies, and private developers , and is known for delivering high-quality transportation and infrastructure solutions across the region. What You'll Be Doing Support senior leadership on transportation and traffic engineering projects , bridging technical work and project delivery Oversee design and review of traffic signals, signing/striping, ITS, lighting, and traffic control plans Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables across multiple assignments Review plans and reports to ensure PS&E quality standards and client expectations are consistently met Mentor junior engineers and provide day-to-day guidance on technical work Assist with proposals, client communication, and overall project growth efforts What They're Looking For 5-8+ years of traffic engineering experience Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related) EIT required; California PE (or ability to obtain shortly) preferred Strong experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation Familiarity with Caltrans or local agency PS&E standards is highly preferred Strong communication skills (both written and client-facing) Traffic Engineer (TE) license is a plus Why This Role Stands Out Clear path into project management and leadership Exposure to a diverse project portfolio (public + private sector) Strong internal mentorship and growth environment Flexible work setup with competitive hourly compensation Full benefits package including medical, dental, 401k, PTO, holidays, and profit sharing Job Alerts Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Heavy Civil Project Engineer•Boise, ID
