About Your Role The Project Manager II
  • TDIP Assistant Project Manager (MEPF) will support large-scale terminal modernization and infrastructure improvement projects at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
This role is responsible for managing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection (MEPF), and specialty systems throughout the design and construction lifecycle within active airport environments. The position requires strong technical leadership, stakeholder coordination, and experience managing complex building systems, commissioning activities, operational interfaces, and infrastructure integration within aviation facilities. Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Aviation, Planning, Business, or related technical field Master's degree preferred What You'll Need to Get the Job Done 10+ years of experience managing MEP systems design and construction Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure or aviation capital improvement programs Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation systems Experience coordinating commissioning, startup, testing, and system turnover activities Ability to manage technical scope, budgets, schedules, and operational coordination Experience reviewing RFIs, submittals, technical change proposals, and commissioning documentation Experience coordinating with airport operations, maintenance, safety, and stakeholder teams Knowledge of mechanical/electrical codes, life safety systems, and sustainability standards Experience working within active operational environments Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Revit/BIM coordination tools, BAS, and controls systems Experience with Design-Bid-Build, CMAR, and Design-Build delivery methods What Will Make You Stand Out Aviation or airport terminal project experience Experience with MEPF system integration and controls coordination Professional certifications such as PMP, PE, LEED, AAAE, or related credentials Experience supporting executive reporting, readiness tracking, and operational turnover planning What You'll Do Serve as the primary technical liaison for MEPF systems within assigned projects Manage design coordination and construction activities related to MEPF infrastructure Oversee installation, startup, testing, commissioning, and turnover activities Support procurement and technical evaluation of consultants, contractors, and vendors Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and readiness metrics Coordinate shutdowns, tie-ins, phasing plans, and operational impacts Conduct field investigations, infrastructure assessments, and constructability reviews Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and technical documentation Coordinate with airport stakeholders to minimize operational disruptions Prepare technical progress reports, readiness updates, and executive-level reporting Support closeout activities including as-built documentation, O&M manuals, warranty tracking, and training coordination Promote CMTS safety standards and operational best practices What You Can Expect from CMTS Opportunities to work on high-impact infrastructure projects across the United States Collaborative and growth-focused team environment Competitive compensation Career advancement and professional development opportunities Exposure to complex aviation and infrastructure capital improvement programs Equal Employment Opportunity
