Job Description

Overview We are a growing underground utility contractor specializing in wet utility rehabilitation, replacement, and new construction within mobile home parks throughout California. Our work includes water, sewer, storm drain, gas, electrical, and telecommunications infrastructure improvements in occupied residential communities. The Wet Utility Superintendent will oversee multiple projects from preconstruction through closeout. This individual will manage field crews, subcontractors, schedules, budgets, quality control, safety compliance, customer relations, and project profitability. The ideal candidate has extensive experience working in mobile home parks and a thorough understanding of California HCD Title 25 requirements, underground utility construction, and occupied residential environments.
Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise underground utility construction projects. Oversee installation and replacement of water, sewer, storm drain, gas, electrical, and telecom systems. Coordinate daily field operations, manpower, equipment, and materials. Develop and maintain project schedules. Monitor project costs and profitability. Prepare estimates, change orders, and project budgets. Review plans, specifications, and contract documents. Ensure compliance with HCD Title 25 standards and local agency requirements. Interface with property managers, owners, engineers, inspectors, and utility representatives. Conduct jobsite safety meetings and enforce company safety standards. Manage subcontractors and vendors. Track production and provide daily reporting. Participate in project planning and business development efforts.
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of underground utility construction experience. 5+ years of superintendent or project management experience. Able to work at job sites throughout Southern California. Extensive experience in wet utility construction. Experience working within occupied mobile home parks. Strong understanding of California HCD Title 25 regulations. Ability to read and interpret civil plans, utility plans, and specifications. Experience preparing estimates and project budgets. Strong communication and leadership skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and project management software. Valid California driver's license and clean driving record.
Preferred:
General Engineering or General Building Contractor experience. Experience with pipe bursting, trenchless technologies, hydro excavation, and utility rehabilitation. Prevailing wage and certified payroll knowledge. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. OSHA 30 Certification. Class A License.
Pay:
$100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
