Senior Project Manager - Healthcare Construction (OSHPD/HCAI)We are an employee-owned construction firm that partners closely with clients to deliver complex projects through integrated planning, design, and construction. Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex healthcare and hospital construction projects with emphasis on OSHPD compliance and HCAI processes. The role is responsible for delivering medical facility projects on time, within budget, and to regulatory and quality standards while coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, contractors, and hospital stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end management of healthcare construction projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and closeout.
Manage OSHPD plan review and approval processes, ensuring designs and construction comply with OSHPD requirements and state regulations.
Coordinate with hospital leadership, facilities, clinical teams, and consultants to align project scope with operational needs and patient care requirements.
Serve as primary contact for HCAI and other healthcare regulatory agencies; prepare and submit required documentation and respond to regulatory inquiries.
Oversee contractor selection, negotiations, contract administration, and on-site performance; conduct regular progress meetings and enforce contract terms.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, cost control measures, forecasts, and change order management to ensure financial accountability.
Implement risk management strategies and resolve technical, schedule, and budget issues proactively.
Ensure quality control, commissioning, and turnover activities meet hospital standards and regulatory requirements; manage punch list and closeout deliverables.
Ensure site safety and compliance with healthcare infection control risk assessments (ICRA/IECA) during construction near clinical areas.
Mentor and coach junior project managers and project staff; foster a collaborative project delivery environment.
Produce regular status reports and executive summaries for stakeholders and senior leadership.
QualificationsBachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 8-10 years of project management experience in healthcare or hospital construction with proven delivery of OSHPD-regulated projects.
Demonstrated experience with OSHPD plan review, approvals, and construction oversight; familiarity with HCAI processes and documentation.
Current PMP certification or equivalent project management credential preferred.
Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams, contractors, and consultants; excellent negotiation and contract administration skills.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills with ability to influence clinical and executive leadership.
