Job Description

Project Manager - Steel Fabrication & Installation Myers & Company Architectural Metals is seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage steel fabrication and installation projects from contract award through final completion. This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of assigned projects, including drawings and submittals, procurement, fabrication, field installation, scheduling, change orders, cost control, and communication with general contractors, architects, engineers, vendors, and our internal shop and field teams. We are looking for someone who is organized, proactive, technically capable, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced construction environment. Responsibilities Manage steel fabrication and installation projects from award through closeout Review contracts, project drawings, specifications, scope of work, and project requirements Coordinate detailing, shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and approvals Work closely with estimating, detailing, purchasing, fabrication, and field installation teams Develop and maintain project schedules and coordinate fabrication and installation with overall construction schedules Attend project meetings and maintain regular communication with general contractors, owners, architects, engineers, and other trades Identify scope changes and prepare, track, and negotiate change orders Monitor project costs, labor, materials, and overall project performance Coordinate material procurement and ensure long-lead items are identified and ordered in a timely manner Work with shop and field supervisors to anticipate manpower, equipment, and scheduling requirements Resolve field conflicts, drawing discrepancies, and other project issues quickly and professionally Track project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedules, and closeout requirements Review project billings and assist with forecasting and cost-to-complete Help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements Maintain strong relationships with customers and project partners throughout the project Qualifications Experience in steel fabrication, structural steel, miscellaneous metals, architectural metals, or commercial construction strongly preferred Previous project management experience in construction or a related industry Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and shop drawings Strong understanding of construction sequencing and field coordination Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple active projects and competing deadlines Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take ownership of projects Comfortable communicating with general contractors, architects, engineers, field personnel, and fabrication teams Experience with construction/project management software and Microsoft Office Knowledge of steel fabrication and erection processes is highly preferred What We Are Looking For The right candidate does not simply track paperwork. We are looking for someone who owns the project from beginning to end , anticipates problems before they affect the schedule, communicates effectively with both customers and our internal teams, and understands that successful project management requires close coordination between the office, fabrication shop, and field. Experience working directly for a steel fabricator/erector is especially valuable. Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation based on experience. $73,900.00 - $89,200.00 per year
