12-Month Contract (Potential for extension/conversion) ???? About the Role The Planet Group is seeking a Construction Permitting Specialist to support critical infrastructure projects. This role focuses on securing Right-of-Way, Access, Right-of-Entry, and Encroachment Permits for transmission and distribution projects. You'll work closely with engineering, construction teams, and government agencies to ensure permits are obtained efficiently and in compliance with all regulations. ???? Key Responsibilities Research & Analysis Review project plans and identify applicable federal, state, and local permitting requirements Research and interpret requirements from agencies such as DOTs, railroads, and municipalities Determine necessary permits (utility installations, temporary access, railroad encroachments, etc.) Documentation & Permitting Prepare and submit permit applications; track progress through approval Assemble permit packages for internal and external review Coordinate approvals for access, road crossings, and ROW occupancy Project Coordination Collaborate with civil, foundation, line, and restoration teams Support project managers with stakeholder meetings and communications Conduct site visits and assist with constructability assessments Track updates and changes to construction plans Data & Reporting Maintain permit data and status updates in ArcGIS Online (AGO) Assist with permit closeout documentation upon project completion ? Required Skills & Qualifications Experience in construction permitting, utilities, or infrastructure projects Strong ability to work with multiple stakeholders (internal teams, agencies, contractors) High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word Ability to manage multiple permits and deadlines simultaneously ???? Preferred Experience Familiarity with Right-of-Way (ROW), access, and encroachment permits Experience working with DOTs, railroads, or local jurisdictions Exposure to ArcGIS or similar tools ????
