Job Description

Job Title:
Project Engineer Job Description The Project Engineer supports the successful delivery of commercial construction projects by managing contract documentation, coordinating subcontractors and vendors, and ensuring project activities align with specifications and schedules. This role combines field and office responsibilities, including document control, project coordination, and communication with multiple stakeholders, while contributing to a collaborative and growth-oriented company culture. Responsibilities Review, organize, and maintain contract documents, shop drawings, and project records to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation. Verify subcontractor submittals to confirm they meet project specifications and requirements before approval. Build and maintain effective working relationships with local authorities to support permitting and project approvals. Coordinate and manage subcontractor and vendor access to job sites, ensuring smooth scheduling and site logistics. Maintain a neat, orderly, and professional field office, including organized job files and administrative systems. Assist with preparing and processing purchase orders and tracking subcontracts to support project procurement and cost control. Support project close-out activities, including compiling close-out documents and assisting with punch list completion. Prepare clear and accurate meeting minutes to document decisions, action items, and project progress. Write and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify project details and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Communicate with project stakeholders via telephone and other channels to resolve issues and keep the project moving forward. Address project issues creatively, propose practical solutions, and escalate matters to upper management when necessary. Promote company values through professional conduct and provide support to subcontractors and suppliers as needed. Utilize mobile technology and digital tools to collaborate with team members and perform daily job duties efficiently. Track permits, sub-permits, and related project issues to support adherence to project schedules and regulatory requirements. Provide administrative support, including data entry, document control, and general project administration tasks. Coordinate construction activities and support project management efforts on commercial construction projects. Essential Skills Experience in construction project coordination, particularly within commercial construction environments. Strong administrative skills, including document control, data entry, and project administration. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project. Ability to read and understand blueprints, plans, and project specifications. Technical proficiency in working with concrete and masonry systems, structural modifications, demolition, and carpentry. Ability to effectively communicate with and lead subcontractors in their tasks. Familiarity with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, Life Safety protocols, refrigeration, and commercial kitchen setups. Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain orderly files, records, and office environments. Effective written and verbal communication skills for preparing meeting minutes, RFIs, and coordinating with stakeholders. Problem-solving skills with the ability to address project issues creatively and proactively. Comfort using mobile technology and digital collaboration tools in daily work. Additional Skills & Qualifications Understanding of construction methods and techniques, or a strong willingness to learn construction practices. Experience in theme parks or similar specialized environments is a plus. Background in construction management, project coordination, or related administrative support roles. Experience with commercial construction projects and jobsite coordination. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for tracking project data and supporting administrative tasks. Familiarity with document management and RFI processes in construction projects. Ability to support multiple projects and adapt to different types of work, as every project may be different. Interest in professional growth and advancement within a construction-focused organization. Work Environment This role operates in both office and construction site environments, offering exposure to active commercial construction projects as well as administrative work in a field office setting. You will regularly use computers, Microsoft Office applications, and mobile technology to manage documents, communicate with stakeholders, and coordinate project activities. The position involves collaboration with subcontractors, vendors, and local authorities, and requires comfort working in dynamic, changing project conditions. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
