About the Role We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager to oversee yacht repair, maintenance, and refit projects from start to finish at a premier yacht service facility in Fort Lauderdale. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for delivering complex marine projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards in the industry. You will act as the central point of coordination between clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal production teams. What You'll Do Lead End-to-End Project Execution Manage multiple yacht repair, maintenance, and refit projects simultaneously Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource plans Coordinate workflow across internal teams and subcontractors Create detailed work orders, specifications, and job planning documents Monitor progress daily and adjust schedules to meet deadlines Manage Client Relationships Serve as primary point of contact for yacht owners, captains, and managers Provide clear, consistent project updates and progress reports Manage expectations and proactively resolve issues or scope changes Build strong long-term relationships with high-value clients Ensure exceptional service delivery and client satisfaction Control Budget & Financial Performance Prepare estimates, proposals, and job budgets Track project costs against approved budgets Review and approve vendor invoices and subcontractor billing Identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality Provide reporting on financial performance and variances Coordinate Vendors & Subcontractors Source and manage marine vendors and specialty subcontractors Negotiate pricing, timelines, and service terms Schedule and coordinate multiple trades efficiently Ensure vendor compliance with safety and quality standards Expedite critical orders and resolve supply delays Ensure Quality & Compliance Conduct inspections throughout project phases Ensure work meets marine industry and client standards Verify compliance with applicable maritime regulations and classification requirements Coordinate sea trials, commissioning, and final inspections Document project completion and obtain client sign-off Lead Internal Teams Collaborate with technicians, mechanics, electricians, and craftsmen Provide clear direction and daily job coordination Support a culture of accountability and continuous improvement Participate in operational planning and team meetings Mentor junior staff when applicable What We're Looking For Required Experience 5+ years of project management experience in marine, shipyard, yacht repair, or related industries Proven ability to manage complex, multi-phase projects ($50K-$2M+) Strong understanding of yacht systems (mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, electronics) Experience working with luxury yachts (40'+) and high-end finishes Ability to manage multiple active projects at once Core Skills Strong leadership and organizational ability Excellent communication with clients, vendors, and teams Financial awareness including budgeting and cost control Proficiency with project management tools (Asana, Monday.com, MS Project, etc.) Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and specifications Comfortable working in a shipyard environment Nice to Have PMP certification or marine industry certifications (ABYC preferred) Experience with marine ERP systems or yacht management software Spanish bilingual ability (strongly preferred in South Florida) Background in yacht surveying, captain operations, or marine engineering Familiarity with USCG, ABS, Lloyd's classification standards Experience with superyacht (80'+) projects Established marine vendor network What We Offer Compensation Competitive salary based on experience Performance-based bonuses Annual salary reviews and growth opportunities Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Sick leave Professional Growth Ongoing training and certifications Manufacturer and industry education programs Career advancement opportunities Support for conferences and continued learning Work Environment Modern yacht repair and service facility Climate-controlled offices and organized shop environment High-end yachts and complex marine systems Strong team culture focused on execution and quality Located in Fort Lauderdale's premier marine hub Why This Role Matters This is a critical leadership position that directly impacts project success, client satisfaction, and operational performance.
