Are you well versed in the entire lifecycle of a BESS project? ______________________________________________________________ Summary NextEra Energy is seeking a BESS Project Manager to support utility-scale battery storage projects throughout the Central and Midwest U.S. This role focuses on early-stage project management and pre-construction activities, advancing projects from development through handoff to execution teams. The ideal candidate has strong project management skills, technical aptitude, financial awareness, and experience coordinating across engineering, development, procurement, and leadership teams. Key Responsibilities Manage utility-scale BESS projects during development and pre-construction Evaluate project opportunities and support viability assessments Develop and maintain project schedules and critical milestones Track budgets, forecasts, CAPEX, and project financials Coordinate procurement, contracting, and vendor activities Prepare executive updates, presentations, and approval materials Identify and mitigate technical, commercial, permitting, schedule, and interconnection risks Partner with engineering, development, finance, and procurement teams to drive project progression Required Qualifications 1-10+ years of project management experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field Experience supporting infrastructure, utility, industrial, energy, or renewable projects Strong scheduling, coordination, and budget management skills Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities Ability to work onsite in Juno Beach, FL (experienced remote candidates in the Central/Midwest U.S. may be considered) Preferred Qualifications Renewable energy experience, especially BESS, solar, wind, or power generation Project development or pre-construction experience Familiarity with utility-scale project lifecycles GIS/site evaluation experience EPC contracting and procurement exposure Knowledge of interconnection processes and transmission risks Engineering background or experience in highly technical industries
