Full-Time The Role We are seeking an experienced Deputy Project Controls Lead to support the planning, execution, and delivery of complex capital and construction programs across the public and private sectors. This role serves as a senior Project Controls practitioner and key support to the Project Controls Lead, providing day-to-day leadership across cost estimating, scheduling, forecasting, and performance management. The ideal candidate brings a strong project delivery background, hands-on technical expertise, and the ability to operate effectively within PMIS-driven environments to support informed decision-making and predictable project outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Support and, when delegated, lead Project Controls functions across multiple projects or programs Develop, review, and maintain project budgets, cost estimates, and forecasts aligned with project baselines Prepare, analyze, and manage CPM schedules, including logic development, updates, and progress assessments Perform variance analysis, trending, and forecasting to support proactive risk and opportunity management Support baseline development, benchmarking, and change management processes Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Owners, consultants, and contractors to ensure alignment between scope, cost, and schedule Support the effective use and continuous improvement of Project Management Information Systems (PMIS), ensuring data integrity and consistency Contribute to the standardization of Project Controls processes, reporting, and governance frameworks Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior Project Controls staff as needed Other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or architecture, with a minimum of 10 years of experience, or a related bachelor's degree with a minimum of 15 years of experience in Project/Construction Management. Demonstrated hands-on experience in both cost estimating and planning/scheduling Strong understanding of cost control, forecasting, earned value principles, and performance measurement Experience working within PMIS environments and data-driven reporting frameworks Ability to operate independently while supporting senior leadership and program objectives Strong communication skills and comfort engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting public sector or infrastructure programs Familiarity with project governance, baseline control, and benchmarking practices Exposure to analytics, dashboards, or performance reporting tools is a plus Professional certifications (PMP, CCP, PSP, or similar) preferred but not required Must be local to Central Florida or willing to commute regularly; candidates in Broward County and West Palm Beach are strongly encouraged
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Strong knowledge of project management information software. (e.g., eBuilder, Kahua, Procore, etc.) Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools. Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and other scheduling tools.
Soft Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders. Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
