Job Description
The Kearney Companies is a Site & Utilities Contractor based in Riverview, FL. Locally owned and operated, we have been in business for over 69 years; we offer competitive pay and excellent benefits. Recent growth has led to opportunities to join our established civil construction company in the Brandon/Riverview area. Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and client-focused Project Coordinator to support and coordinate civil construction projects from planning through completion. This role bridges administrative support and project management functions, assisting Project Managers while ensuring project documentation, communication, scheduling, and reporting are accurate, timely, and compliant. This position requires regular interaction with clients, a strong understanding of field operations, and the ability to work in the field when needed. Key Responsibilities Maintain responsibility for yard inventory, including material tracking, organization, and reconciliation. Manage and document color-coding details for underground utilities, sod, curb, and sidewalk work. Oversee and coordinate all warranty-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and proper documentation. Coordinate with sod vendors, including review and processing of sod-related invoices. Complete fire hydrant flow testing. Complete water sample testing. Coordinate Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans and activities in accordance with state guidelines and requirements. Prepare and maintain plan mark-ups related to MOT materials and layouts. Perform material check-in and inventory verification in coordination with the Project Engineer and client representatives. Support Project Managers in coordinating and tracking all phases of civil construction projects. Assist with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination. Monitor project progress and assist with preparing status updates and reports. Identify potential project issues or risks and communicate them to the Project Manager. Support field operations as needed, including site visits and coordination with field staff. Manage document control, filing systems, and version management. Prepare and distribute project-related correspondence, reports, and presentations. Serve as a client-focused point of contact, ensuring timely and professional communication. Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and internal teams. Facilitate communication between field teams and office staff. Assist with tracking project costs, resources, and progress. Utilize Microsoft Office and project management software to support reporting and coordination. Assist in improving project management processes and efficiencies. Support compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of field experience in civil construction. Previous experience in a project coordination, administrative, or supervisory role preferred. Strong client service and communication skills with a professional demeanor. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project management software. Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications. Willingness and ability to work in the field as needed. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing project needs.
