Commercial Electrical Project Coordinator (Permitting)

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Commercial Electrical Project Coordinator to support the planning, execution, and permitting of commercial electrical construction projects. This role will coordinate closely with project managers, field teams, inspectors, utility companies, and local municipalities to ensure projects remain compliant, on schedule, and properly documented from start to finish. Key Responsibilities Coordinate all permitting activities for commercial electrical projects, including permit applications, revisions, inspections, and closeouts. Communicate with local municipalities, AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction), utility companies, and inspectors regarding permit requirements and approvals. Track permit statuses and inspection schedules to ensure project timelines are maintained. Assist project managers with scheduling, procurement tracking, job documentation, and project reporting. Maintain organized digital and physical project files, including permits, drawings, submittals, RFIs, and inspection reports. Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to support project execution. Monitor project deadlines and proactively identify potential delays or compliance issues. Review plans and specifications to verify permit requirements and project scope. Support project billing processes, change orders, and closeout documentation. Attend project meetings and provide administrative/project coordination support as needed. Qualifications Experience in commercial electrical construction, project coordination, or permitting preferred. Strong understanding of permitting processes, inspections, and construction documentation. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and electrical plans. Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Must be able to apply for permits. Notory would be required. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with commercial electrical contractors. Familiarity with utility coordination and service applications. Knowledge of NEC codes and local building regulations. Experience with permitting software platforms and project scheduling tools.
