Role Description The Onsite Project Manager is a full-time role based in Athens, GA, responsible for overseeing project activities from planning through completion at the client site. This role will lead animal care support operations at a federally regulated agricultural research facility, including coordinating schedules, resources, and deliverables; tracking progress; and ensuring that project milestones, budgets, and quality standards are met. The Onsite Project Manager will also lead status meetings, manage documentation, and serve as the primary point of contact between the client, on-site teams, and EmDX leadership. Additional responsibilities include monitoring onsite operations, addressing issues or risks as they arise, and ensuring compliance with project requirements, safety protocols, and organizational policies. The position requires hands-on presence at the Athens, GA location to guide day-to-day execution and maintain strong communication with all project participants. Key Responsibilities Supervise, schedule, and manage contract animal care technicians across a 7-day operational schedule Oversee onboarding, credentialing, and security processing of all contract personnel Ensure compliance with applicable federal regulations, animal care standards (USDA, OLAW, IACUC, AAALAC), and facility SOPs Develop, implement, and maintain a Quality Control Plan (QCP) aligned with contract performance requirements Prepare and submit monthly status reports, kickoff meeting minutes, lessons-learned reports, and other deliverables per contract schedule Coordinate surge and contingency staffing to ensure uninterrupted animal care operations Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with facility Animal Use Protocols (AUPs) Coordinate with facility veterinary staff on animal health management and research support activities Ensure all personnel adhere to BSL-2 biosecurity protocols, PPE requirements, and site-specific safety procedures Minimum Qualifications High School diploma required. At least 7 years of progressive experience in animal care and use support, including supervisory or leadership responsibility. Demonstrated experience managing staff in a federally regulated research animal facility. Familiarity with IACUC processes and applicable animal welfare regulations. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with all stakeholders. Experience with Inspection activities, including verifying quality standards, documentation, and adherence to specifications. Ability to work onsite in Athens, GA, with availability from Monday through Friday and for emergency response. Must pass a federal Tier 2 background investigation. Must be willing to sign a No Avian Contact attestation form. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Preferred Qualifications AALAS certification at the LATG (Laboratory Animal Technologist) level. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field. Proficiency in Logistics Management, coordinating transportation, inventory, and onsite material handling in support of project needs. Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing project requirements.
