Responsibilities Lead project safety by adhering to all company requirements and correcting any violations on-site. Strategically plan project work and procure materials with a focus on safety Develop and mentor project engineers within the division Collaborate with estimators to ensure effective bidding and project handover Serve as the primary point of contact for subcontractors and vendors Prepare, track, and obtain all necessary project documentation, including submittals and material certifications Manage project budgets, understand financials, and optimize cash flow Prepare and submit all records for project change orders Build and maintain positive relationships with subcontractors Identify, pursue, and secure fair compensation for changes in project scope Actively seek creative solutions to increase project revenue and save costs while maintaining high quality standards Maintain accurate project files, drawings, and production records Qualifications At least five (5) years of construction experience (preferably road construction). Direct experience with road and/or heavy civil construction projects Proficiency with Microsoft Office products Proven experience in project planning, scheduling, and estimating The ability to prepare detailed subcontractor scopes of work Familiarity with pricing, purchasing, and preparing purchase orders for materials and equipment The ability to read and understand technical drawings Strong communication skills with all levels of a construction organization, from on-site crews to executives What will set you apart (Preferred) High proficiency with Microsoft Excel A four-year degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred Familiarity with HCSS products ( HeavyJob and HeavyBid ) or other construction management software Experience with advanced project management tools, such as scheduling software Experience in GDOTor ALDOT project management A strong ambition to grow with the company and expand leadership skills
