Job Description
Job Summary Vertical Earth is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the planning, execution, and successful completion of civil construction projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in civil construction project management, project engineering, or estimating and possess a strong understanding of sitework, earthwork, grading, and utility construction. Estimating experience is highly preferred. Essential Functions Assist Project Managers with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution. Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project documents. Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, permits, and project documentation. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and field operations. Monitor project costs, quantities, production, and schedule performance. Support estimating efforts by performing quantity takeoffs and project reviews. Utilize PlanSwift and AGTEK for takeoffs, earthwork analysis, and project planning. Participate in project meetings and maintain project records. Assist with project forecasting, invoicing, and closeout activities. Communicate effectively with project teams, clients, engineers, and vendors. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil construction project management, project engineering, estimating, or a related role. Strong understanding of sitework, grading, excavation, and underground utility construction. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Preferred Qualifications Experience with PlanSwift and/or AGTEK takeoff software. Estimating experience within civil construction. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field. Experience supporting self-perform construction operations. Knowledge Of Sitework, grading, excavation, and utility construction. Quantity takeoffs and construction estimating. Construction contracts, specifications, and project documentation. Cost tracking, budgeting, and forecasting. Project scheduling and coordination. Ability To Analyze plans and specifications to identify project requirements. Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with estimating efforts. Work effectively with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and clients. Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Communicate professionally in both written and verbal formats. Support field operations while maintaining strong attention to detail.
