Job Description
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for driving 80+ active projects from turnover through procurement, scheduling, installation, billing, closeout, and warranty transition. You will coordinate with customers, general contractors, vendors, manufacturers, field installation teams, accounting, estimating, and sales to keep projects moving. The right candidate understands that successful project management means staying ahead of the project instead of reacting to problems after they happen. Key Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of 80+ active construction projects at any given time Take ownership of projects following turnover from estimating and sales Review contracts, proposals, plans, specifications, scopes, schedules, and project requirements Establish project priorities and maintain accurate project status information Manage submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, approvals, and change orders Coordinate material procurement and manufacturer lead times Track long-lead items and identify potential schedule conflicts early Coordinate deliveries, equipment requirements, and site logistics Coordinate installation schedules with field leadership and subcontractors Communicate regularly with general contractors, owners, architects, vendors, and internal teams Attend project meetings when required Conduct jobsite visits as necessary to verify readiness and resolve issues Ensure sites are ready before installation crews and materials are dispatched Identify scope gaps, schedule risks, access issues, and field conflicts before they affect installation Maintain accurate project documentation and correspondence Manage change-order identification, pricing coordination, submission, approval, and tracking Monitor project budgets, committed costs, labor, material costs, and profitability Review job-cost reports and identify margin erosion Work with accounting to ensure accurate and timely monthly billing Manage retainage, closeout documentation, punch lists, O&M manuals, warranties, and final completion Escalate significant project, financial, contractual, or customer issues before they become emergencies Maintain accurate project information within Acumatica ERP Assist in developing and mentoring Project Managers and Project Engineers Provide leadership with clear reporting on project status, risks, financial exposure, and required decisions Managing 80+ Projects Successfully Managing 80+ active projects requires more than working harder—it requires a disciplined system for determining what needs attention and when . The successful candidate must be able to organize a large project portfolio by stage: Preconstruction → Submittals → Procurement → Ready to Schedule → Installation → Billing → Closeout At any given time, you should be able to identify: Which projects require action today Which projects are waiting on the customer or GC Which projects are waiting on manufacturers or materials Which projects have schedule risk Which projects have financial or margin risk Which projects require field coordination Which projects are ready to bill Which projects require executive involvement We are looking for someone who manages through systems, priorities, accountability, and proactive communication—not memory and email alone.
What We're Looking For Required:
7+ years of construction project management experience Proven ability to manage a high volume of projects simultaneously Strong understanding of construction contracts, drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, change orders, schedules, and closeout Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to hold internal and external partners accountable Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Experience with job costing and project financial management Ability and willingness to visit jobsites when necessary Strong computer and construction-management software skillsPreferred:
Specialty subcontractor experience Demonstrated experience managing a large portfolio of simultaneous projects Experience managing projects for K-12 schools, universities, municipalities, or public construction Experience working directly with general contractors Experience with athletic equipment, bleachers, lockers, turf, tracks, gym flooring, sports courts, or related specialty scopes Experience with Acumatica Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field What Success Looks Like A successful Senior Project Manager at H.E.Hodge will:
