- 45•Manage designers and contractors on Facilities Planning projects.
- Study and evaluation of alteration, repair, and construction plans, designs, specifications and the estimation of labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs for all such projects undertaken by Facilities Planning.
- Determine material and equipment costs by referring to online sources or catalogs and through personal contact with vendors and suppliers.
- Estimate labor costs by studying previous projects' final cost records by cost analysis and by unit cost guides based on national averages.
- Determine supervision, office, inspection, and other overhead costs based on time required for the completion of projects.
- Determine that necessary precautions are being followed to ensure the safety of students, faculty, staff, and workers while projects are in progress.
- Visit projects frequently to determine if plans and specifications are being followed and efficient, quality, safe, productive work is being performed.
- Develop and maintain budgets for each project and provide reporting on each budget to superiors and related project team. Other
- 5•Perform other duties as necessary or assigned.
- 10•Supervise the work of others, involved with planning, assigning and scheduling work, reviewing work and ensuring quality standards, training staff and overseeing their productivity.
- 15•Participate in selection of Architects/Engineers as Contractors/Subcontractors for each assigned project.
- Discuss issues or project status updates with superiors, Board of Regents staff, or other agencies.
- Coordinate various trades when acting as overall project manager on projects. Reporting
- 25•Coordinate with managers and arrange schedules for the completion of projects.
- May be required to write project specifications for the preparation of bid documents.
- Work assignments are received verbally or in writing.
- Prepare reports covering all estimated costs and project scheduling; submit for superior's approval.
- Study plans and specifications and confer with division, designers, and superiors to adjust discrepancies and clarify details.
- Prepare reports based on punch-list inspections near the end of the project covering all outstanding or deficient items as well as items not meeting Life Safety, ADA, or other code requirements.
- Review and maintain progress report on punch list items through completion with the contractor and supervisor.
- Coordinate and maintain project budget and reporting on a per-project basis.
- Detailed review of invoices, materials on hand requests, and change orders. Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree in Construction or a related field plus 2-4 years of experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Other Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license.
- Training in Construction, Design, Engineering, Interior Design, Landscape Design, or related fields. Required Experience Experience in architectural designing, cost estimating, and building construction. - Ability to prepare cost estimates, develop and review construction documents, and utilize software such as MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management systems.

- Ability to work independently and carry out assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
- Ability to maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail.

- Working knowledge of computer systems and software used for project cost estimating and for developing project specifications and schedules.
- Detailed knowledge of construction practices, project management principles, and construction cost estimating.
- Detailed knowledge of the methods, techniques, and practices used in construction cost estimating.
- Detailed knowledge of the basic principles, techniques, and practices associated with multiple construction trades.
- Detailed knowledge of sources used to obtain labor, material, and equipment cost information.
- Detailed knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
