Your impact Jacobs is seeking a Project Director to lead and manage the project, strategic direction, management, and successful delivery of the KSU Relocation Project, a major EPC infrastructure and utility development program comprising highly complex process, mechanical, electrical, and utility systems. The role leads a multidisciplinary team and serves as the primary interface with the Client, EPC Contractor, stakeholders, authorities, and specialist consultants. The Project Director is accountable for delivering the project safely, within budget, on schedule, and in accordance with contractual, quality, and operational requirements. The project is heavily driven by process engineering and MEP systems, incorporating critical utility infrastructure including cooling towers, sewage treatment facilities, thermal utility generation systems, electrical power generation facilities, extensive underground service tunnels, logistics facilities, workshops, warehouses, and administrative buildings. The Project Director shall ensure seamless integration of all utility, process, civil, structural, and building systems into a fully operational campus relocation program. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership Provide overall leadership and governance for the KSU Relocation Project. Establish project strategy, execution plans, and delivery objectives aligned with client requirements. Lead large multidisciplinary project management, engineering, construction, commissioning, and commercial teams. Promote Jacobs' culture of safety, integrity, collaboration, and technical excellence. Drive project performance against key schedule, cost, quality, and safety objectives. Client and Stakeholder Management Act as the primary senior representative to the Client and executive stakeholders. Build and maintain strong working relationships with client leadership, EPC Contractor management Lead executive-level meetings, progress reviews, and strategic decision-making forums. Manage stakeholder expectations while ensuring alignment with project objectives and contractual commitments. EPC Delivery Oversight Direct and oversee EPC contractor performance throughout all project phases. Ensure effective integration between engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover activities. Monitor contractor compliance with project specifications, contractual obligations, and performance targets. Resolve major technical, commercial, and operational challenges impacting project delivery. Process and MEP Leadership Provide executive oversight of process-driven and MEP-intensive systems throughout design, construction, testing, and commissioning. Ensure successful integration of critical utility infrastructure including: Cooling Towers Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) Medium Temperature Hot Water (MTHW) Building Electrical Generation Building Utility Distribution Networks 1.7 km Service Tunnel Network Warehouse Facilities Maintenance Workshops Administration Building Support design optimization and operational readiness of all utility and process facilities. Ensure interfaces between process systems, MEP systems, civil infrastructure, and campus facilities are effectively managed. Commercial and Financial Management Maintain accountability for project budget, forecasting, and cost control. Monitor project financial performance and profitability. Lead assessment and resolution of claims, variations, change orders, and commercial negotiations. Ensure robust risk management processes are implemented and maintained. Schedule and Delivery Management Ensure development and maintenance of integrated master schedules. Drive recovery plans where necessary to mitigate schedule risks. Monitor critical path activities, contractor productivity, procurement status, and commissioning readiness. Ensure project milestones and contractual completion dates are achieved. Risk and Governance Establish and maintain comprehensive project governance frameworks. Lead project risk identification, mitigation planning, and issue resolution. Chair executive project reviews and steering committee meetings. Ensure compliance with Jacobs procedures, corporate governance requirements, and client standards. Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Champion a "Safety by Leadership" culture across all project activities. Ensure compliance with all HSE regulations and project-specific safety requirements. Drive quality assurance and quality control programs across the project lifecycle. Promote a zero-harm safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives. Commissioning and Handover Oversee integrated testing, commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities. Ensure process and utility systems achieve required performance criteria. Manage final handover to the Client, including documentation, training, warranties, and closeout requirements. Support transition to operations and long-term asset reliability objectives. Here's what you'll need Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Civil, or related discipline). Master's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Certifications Preferred:
PMP (Project Management Professional) PMI, APM, or equivalent professional accreditation Experience Minimum 25 years of major project delivery experience. Minimum 10 years in senior project leadership roles. Demonstrated experience managing large-scale EPC projects exceeding
USD 500M
in value. Strong experience delivering utility infrastructure, district energy, industrial facilities, process plants, or major campus developments. Proven capability in managing complex MEP and process-intensive facilities.
