Job Description

Job Overview We are looking for a detail-oriented and client-focused Design Project Manager to be apart of our commercial construction design company. This team member will have a key role from pre-sales through permit and turnover to operations. This role sits at the intersection of design coordination, client communication, and project scheduling — making it ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and can manage multiple projects.
Responsibilities:
Own the full design project schedule — from feasibility and test fits through permit submittal and handoff to the operations team Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, documenting all decisions and managing expectations around timelines and permitting complexity Coordinate with civil, MEP, structural, and interior design consultants; issue notices to proceed; track deliverables; and confirm milestone dates Manage Revit modeling and drafting — either directly, through internal staff, or via outsourced subcontractors Review construction document sets against budget, design intent, and the CD checklist before submittal Navigate the permitting process — preparing plan sets, coordinating with permit expediters, and responding to county and city comments Support the estimating team with special-order items, value engineering, and budget alignment Maintain organized server files and ensure the correct plan sets are in use at every project stage Track billing milestones and maintain the billing trigger structure for every project you manage What we're looking for Experience in commercial construction design coordination, architecture, or a related field Proficiency with Revit; familiarity with civil, MEP, and structural drawing sets Strong written communication skills — you document decisions, dependencies, and schedule changes in writing as a habit Demonstrated ability to manage multiple consultants and subcontractors across concurrent projects Working knowledge of local permitting processes and the ability to communicate timelines clearly to clients and leadership A proactive, organized approach to tracking open deliverables and keeping projects moving
