Full Job Description Part-Time Project READ Site Coordinator Hourly Rate:
$23.22 This position is an on-site, part-time, up-to 19-hour appointment based in Champaign County, Illinois. Applications accepted until the position is filled. The Project READ Site Coordinator supports the Illinois Secretary of State's Adult Volunteer Literacy program, Project READ. The Project READ Site Coordinator will focus on providing support and assistance to volunteer tutors and students. The Site Coordinator must be able to work independently, collaboratively, and accurately to prioritize tasks & responsibilities.

Recruit volunteer tutors and students Assist with intake and testing of new students Provide program orientation to volunteers Provide ongoing tutor/student support Assist with tutor training Assist in making appropriate placements and matches Assist in identifying learners ready to transition into Adult Education and/or other Parkland College programming. Collect tutor/student data and submit to program assistant for data entry Coordinate with Program Manager for tutor/student recognition events Prepare and distribute quarterly newsletter to tutors and community partners
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in education or related field. Experience working with adults and volunteers. An understanding of grant-funded programs. Excellent recordkeeping and communication skills. Functional ability with Microsoft Office Suite. Prospective new hires will successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check with fingerprinting. The background check review includes, but is not limited to, exclusionary offenses per the Illinois School Code and Title IV of the Higher Education Act.
