The Opportunity This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location within the CHR Corporate Human Resources division. The Senior Project Coordinator will support priority initiatives and other HR projects. The ideal candidate will operate with a high degree of collaboration and independence, working closely with Project Manager(s) to drive execution and ensure alignment across cross‑functional teams. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, as this role frequently collaborates with stakeholders within HR and across other Abbott functions.
What You'll Work On:
Assist in preparing project plans, timelines, and schedules. Organize and facilitate project meetings, including scheduling, drafting agendas, capturing minutes, and following up on action items. Track and monitor project progress, milestones, risks, and issues; escalate as appropriate. Maintain and update project management tools, trackers, and dashboards. Support preparation of project updates, status reports, and stakeholder presentations. Help drive alignment and coordination across global, cross‑functional teams. Assist with budget management activities, including tracking expenditures, processing purchase orders, and coordinating with vendors. Proactively seeks and recommends innovative ways to improve the HR portfolio processes.
Required Qualifications:
Associates Degree (± 4 years) in Human Resources, IT, Project Management, Business Administration or a related field. Microsoft PowerPoint skills required. Exceptional organizational, time‑management, and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels. Demonstrated ability to problem‑solve, anticipate needs, and take initiative in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting a PMO or managing/coordinating multiple simultaneous projects is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Project, Excel and Word. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
