- Data Center Construction | Chicago, IL Overview A fast-growing design-build contractor specializing exclusively in the planning, construction, and maintenance of mission-critical data centers is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of complex data center projects.

- defining scope, developing project plans, schedules, and budgets, and ensuring full compliance with specifications, codes, safety standards, and quality expectations from mobilization through closeout Coordinate cross-functional project teams spanning mechanical, electrical, structural, controls, commissioning, and field operations
- driving accountability, communication, and performance across all disciplines Serve as the primary client point of contact
- building trust through proactive communication, managing expectations, resolving issues, and representing the company in meetings, presentations, and negotiations Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks
- developing contingency plans and maintaining a proactive approach to protecting schedule, budget, and quality throughout the project lifecycle Manage project budgets end-to-end
- monitoring financial performance, tracking cost forecasts, reporting on variances, and managing procurement, vendor negotiations, contracts, and change orders Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and schedule requirements across all active work fronts Maintain accurate and organised project documentation
- including drawings, submittals, RFIs, permits, meeting minutes, and as-builts
- throughout the full project lifecycle Mentor and develop project engineers, field leads, and junior team members
- contributing to a high-performance project culture built on continuous improvement and professional growth Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field
- or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of project management experience in mission-critical, data center, or large-scale infrastructure construction. Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, structural, and commissioning systems (HVAC, power distribution, cooling, controls). Proficiency with project management software (MS Project, Primavera, etc.) and standard business tools (Excel, PowerPoint). Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
