Job Description

Capital Project Instrument Coordinator | You know what happens when nobody owns the field. You know instrumentation. You know what a refinery looks like when a project leaves the drawing board and hits the field. And you know the difference between an instrument that is technically installed and one that is actually ready for startup. This is a long-term opportunity in Lemont, IL , where you'll sit in the middle of capital instrumentation projects and help make sure the work gets done right. What you'll do Coordinate instrumentation work from field installation through checkout, commissioning, punch list, and startup. Walk the field, compare the scope to reality, and catch constructability or execution issues before they become schedule problems. Keep engineering, project management, operations, maintenance, contractors, and instrument techs moving in the same direction. Coordinate installation verification, calibration checks, functional testing, walkdowns, turnover, and startup activities. Troubleshoot when the instrumentation doesn't behave the way it should—and know when to pull in engineering or another technical resource. Work with pressure, flow, level, temperature, transmitters, control valves, analyzers, and the control systems tied to them. Track what's done, what's holding things up, and what needs to happen next to keep the project moving. What you get This is a role for someone who's ready to use their field experience for more than completing the next work order. You'll have the technical credibility to work hands-on when needed, but your bigger impact will come from coordinating the work, anticipating problems, and helping get capital projects safely across the finish line. The position is long-term contract, Monday-Friday, 7:00-4:00 , in an operating refinery environment. The listed pay is $70/hour .

• Who you are You've spent 10+ years in refinery, petrochemical, chemical, or similar process instrumentation . You can still pick up the test equipment and troubleshoot an instrument yourself, but you've also learned how to coordinate people and work across multiple groups. You're the person others call when the drawings don't quite match the field, a commissioning issue appears, or five different groups need to agree on what happens next. You understand DCS/control systems and can read instrumentation drawings without needing someone to translate them for you. Curious what the project looks like and what they'll need you to own? Reach out. We'll tell you about the site before you decide if it's worth a conversation.
