Project Manager - HVAC & Commercial ConstructionPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead HVAC and commercial construction projects from planning through closeout. The successful candidate will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage schedules and budgets, oversee installation and commissioning of HVAC systems and
BAS/HVAC
controls, and ensure projects meet safety, quality, and client expectations. This role requires strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, proven construction management experience, and excellent stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution of HVAC and commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
Coordinate and manage subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and adherence to specifications.
Oversee installation, integration, and commissioning of HVAC systems, BAS controls, and HVAC controls; work closely with controls technicians and engineers.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and progress reports; identify and mitigate risks to scope, schedule, and cost.
Review and manage contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and procurement to ensure compliance and timely resolution.
Conduct site inspections to monitor quality, safety, and regulatory compliance; enforce safety programs and company standards.
Serve as primary client and stakeholder contact, providing regular updates, addressing concerns, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Manage project closeout activities including punch lists, commissioning documentation, training, operations handover, and warranty follow-up.
Implement and apply construction best practices, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize project outcomes.
QualificationsBachelors degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.5+ years of project management experience in HVAC and commercial construction projects.
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, HVAC industry practices, and HVAC controls including BAS controls and building automation systems.
Proven experience managing multiple contractors and complex project schedules, budgets, and change orders.
Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts and drive teams to results.
Relevant certifications preferred such as PMP, LEED, NICET, or controls-related certifications.
Demonstrated commitment to safety with knowledge of OSHA standards and construction site safety practices.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
