Road Construction Job Summary:
The Project Coordinator supports the successful execution of construction projects by assisting project managers and site supervisors in planning, scheduling, and coordinating work related to concrete, asphalt, underground utilities, and earthwork. This role involves maintaining project documentation, tracking progress, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and facilitating effective communication among stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Coordination:
Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, ensuring alignment with deadlines and budget. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth workflow. Track material orders, deliveries, and equipment need to prevent delays. Support project managers with permit applications, inspections, and compliance documentation.
Project Tracking & Reporting:
Monitor project progress and maintain daily/weekly reports on completed work, potential delays, and risks. Maintain organized and up-to-date project records, including contracts, change orders, RFIs, and submittals. Assist in preparing cost estimates, budget tracking, and invoicing. Ensure adherence to safety and environmental regulations by coordinating safety meetings and inspections.
Communication & Problem-Solving:
Facilitate communication between field teams, project managers, clients, and vendors. Coordinate and schedule project meetings, preparing agendas and documenting minutes. Assist in resolving project challenges by troubleshooting issues and escalating concerns as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in construction project coordination, preferably in concrete, asphalt, underground utilities, or earthwork .
Software Proficiency:
Experience with Microsoft 365, Outlook, Excel, Word, & construction management software is a plus.
Knowledge of Construction Practices:
Understanding of civil construction processes, materials, and safety regulations.
Organizational & Communication Skills:
Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and excellent verbal and written communication.
Problem-Solving Ability:
Ability to anticipate project challenges and proactively coordinate solutions.
Work Environment:
Primarily office-based with regular visits to active construction sites. Requires travel to project locations, interaction with field personnel, and adherence to safety protocols.
Pay:
