Job Title:
Project Manager Job Description We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a minimum of 3 years in commercial construction Project Management. This role is crucial to our preconstruction process and overall project success. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment—especially on bid days. You will work closely with subcontractors, vendors, estimators, and leadership to scope out and manage projects effectively. Responsibilities Manage 3-5 commercial construction projects simultaneously from award through closeout. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and timelines. Coordinate and oversee field staff, subcontractors, and vendors. Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance. Resolve project issues proactively to keep work on schedule and within budget. Prepare accurate project estimates, budgets, and pricing proposals. Review plans, specifications, and scope documents to determine labor, materials, and timelines. Support bid preparation and client pricing discussions. Track job costs and adjust projections as projects progress. Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle. Communicate schedules, progress updates, and change orders clearly and professionally. Collaborate with internal teams including other Project Managers and leadership. Maintain and enforce company safety standards on all job sites. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal construction regulations. Promote a strong safety culture with field teams and subcontractors. Essential Skills Minimum 3 years of commercial construction Project Management Experience. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing. Proven ability to meet strict deadlines and perform under pressure. Excellent negotiation and analytical skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. High attention to detail and strong organizational ability. Proficient with project management software, spreadsheets, and construction management technology. Self-motivated, solution-oriented, and resourceful. High level of integrity, professionalism, and work ethic. Team-oriented with a commitment to continuous improvement. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in commercial construction, estimation, and construction management. Proficiency in preconstruction processes. Work Environment The work environment includes an office setting with frequent visits to project sites around the Kansas City area. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shawnee, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
