Job Description
Job Summary:
The Offshore Project Manager (hereafter referred to as Project Manager) will manage and control offshore I&E projects to optimize the net operating profits of the company. The position can also involve estimating the cost of the project and on-site management of offshore operations.Responsibilities:
Job Estimates- Must be able to accurately estimate the resources, material, time, and personnel required to accomplish a job, and then develop a profitable quotation that meets the company's profit guidelines. Develop Schedules & Allocate Resources
- Once the quote has been accepted, the job must be scheduled and resources allocated. The Project Manager will work with, and through, Field leadership, Vice President of Operations and Production, Production Manager, Field Personnel Manager, and the Purchasing Manager to schedule, procure, and allocate resources. Startup Meetings
- Chairs a startup meeting with all affected parties. At the meeting, the Project Manager clearly defines the scope, expectations, safety standards, timelines, and his/her update requirements. Once the project has started, the Project Manager seeks out progress reports regularly from the field and/or production. Site Visits
- Site visits are a necessary and critical component of project management.
- Design and develop new control systems or products as instructed by the Vice President of Operations and Production. Teamwork
- Promotes teamwork and ensures high morale of fellow employees. Must be able to work effectively with the Vice President of Operations and Production, Director of Accounting and Finance, Purchasing Manager, Field Personnel Manager, Production Manager, and Field Superintendents to ensure that projects meet the timing (schedule), invoicing, and profitability goals. Customer Support & Satisfaction
- Works closely with existing customers to ensure satisfaction and customer retention. Communicates constantly with the Business Development team to keep them abreast of any customer issues. Training
- Grooms assistants to become effective Project Managers and assists in the development of technicians. Process lmprovements
- Makes recommendations to the Vice President of Operations and Production on improvements or renewals of equipment. Quality Control
- Visits jobsites and the shop floor to examine the quality and timeliness of work being performed. Works closely with the Field Superintendent(s) and Production Manager to ensure that a quality job is done. Specify quality of materials to be used on projects. lnvoicing
- Responsible to have all the paperwork needed for invoicing to Accounting Department personnel in a timely fashion. Projects that are completed in the middle, or beginning, of a week should be invoiced during the same week. Project Planning & Control
- Ensures all orders are input into the system and that all applicable drawings, scope, schedule, and parts list go out with the job to the shop floor or field. Production and Project Management Meetings
- Attends the weekly production meeting and weekly Project Manager meetings where operations, schedule, cost, and sales issues are discussed. Project Manager Metrics
- Reviews key performance metric regularly with an eye on improving bid accuracy, controlling cost, and improving net profitability of jobs. On Call
- Ready and available to deal with field issues after hours, as needed. Support Duties
