The Prince George's County Department of Social Services is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Special Projects Coordinator grade G21 position, in the Human Resources Services Division . This position is limited term grant funded (LTGF). Positions designated as limited-term grant-funded are temporary in nature and the employment period is contingent upon the grant's continued funding availability. This position does offer benefits.

About the Position This position serves as the Special Project Coordinator reporting to the Director of the Department of Social Services. Individual will be overseeing initiatives to strengthen families, protect vulnerable populations, and improve community well-being. The role ensures the timely delivery of project objectives, coordinates across internal divisions and external partners, and communicates progress to department leadership. The coordinator contributes to problem-solving, policy implementation, and process improvement within social services programs. About the Agency The Prince George's County Department of Social Services is in the business of providing opportunities for residents of the County to become independent, responsible and stable members of the community. We do this by providing intervention services that strengthen families, protect children and vulnerable adults, encourage self-sufficiency and promote personal responsibility. We assist our customers through such programs as Temporary Cash Assistance, Food Supplement Program, Medical Assistance, Emergency Assistance, and Foster Care and Adoption Service. Serve as the lead on projects or initiatives as identified by the Director. Prepare and submits special reports as required by the Director of Social Services Prepare accurate and timely reports upon request and when assigned by the Special Assistant to the Director. Determine service needs, gaps, and barriers with the Prince George's County Department of Social Services in collaboration with the Special Assistant and county and staff. Plan, organize, and coordinate department-specific projects from inception to completion. Track project milestones, deadlines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with departmental goals. Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare reports or presentations to support decision-making. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate project execution. Identify risks or obstacles and develop contingency plans. Monitor and ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures. Maintain detailed project documentation, including timelines, budgets, and progress reports. Assist leadership in evaluating the success and impact of projects. Serve as the lead on projects or initiatives as identified by the Director. Provide high-level technological support to the Director for meetings, presentations, and spreadsheets. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Social Service, Sociology, Psychology, or a closely related field. One (1) year of responsible work experience. Must possess and maintain a valid Class C driver's license. Any equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience may also be considered.

Conditions of Employment :

Essential employees are expected to report during standard or non-standard hours as operations necessitate, or during emergencies. Essential employees are expected to report or remain at work when other County employees are granted Administrative Leave.
