We're looking for a Project Manager to support our teams in Ottawa, ON, Vancouver, BC and Baltimore, MD and help run our expanding operations. Here's a little more about the job: Key Responsibilities Own the end?to?end delivery of product security certification service projects (e.g., Common Criteria, FIPS 140?3), from project kickoff through formal submission and approval. Serve as the primary customer?facing point of contact, guiding clients through certification requirements, deliverables, risks, and timelines. Coordinate and align efforts across internal technical teams (evaluators and consultants), operations, sales, and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved. Work closely with technical leads to monitor evolving policies, technical decisions, and requirements, and adapt project execution approaches while managing overall scope, schedules, dependencies, risks, and external constraints. Manage day?to?day project execution using project management practices and tools, maintaining accurate task tracking, dependency and risk visibility, and using project data to deliver clear, consistent status updates and reporting to internal and customer stakeholders. Forecast resource needs and collaborate with management to allocate resources effectively across multiple concurrent projects. Maintain awareness of project financials, including budget considerations and the cost impact of scope and timeline changes. Monitor project performance and delivery quality, identify areas for improvement, and contribute to continuous improvements in project management and delivery practices. The Ideal Candidate To excel at Lightship, you have a demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively on teams and are also an energetic self-starter with the self-motivation to work independently. You have excellent oral and written communication skills, and can count time management, problem solving, and managing multiple priorities as your strengths. What You Bring Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, project management or a related field. 3-5 years of project management experience in a service-based organization. Skills & Competencies Proven experience using project management and reporting tools to plan, track, and deliver work effectively (e.g., ClickUp, Wrike, Smartsheet, monday.com, Asana, or similar platforms). Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), including the use of Excel formulas and basic analysis to support reporting and informed decision?making. Organizational and time management skills, with consistent attention to detail across multiple workstreams. Ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously, making informed trade?offs to balance competing priorities and delivery commitments. Skilled at setting and managing expectations by understanding client needs, anticipating stakeholder concerns, and communicating clear, realistic delivery plans. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand certification requirements and high?level technical concepts to support effective coordination with internal teams and communicate any implications to clients. Strong interpersonal skills with a pragmatic, solution?oriented approach to problem solving. Ability to adapt quickly in dynamic environments, demonstrating initiative while maintaining focus on delivery outcomes. Bonus skillset (Preferred but not required) Project management certification such as PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2, or other recognized credentials. Experience working in standards?based, or compliance?driven environments. Knowledge of cybersecurity certification and compliance frameworks, such as Common Criteria, FIPS 140, or similar standards.
