The senior project manager provides project management support to the management and technical staff at Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD).
NSWC IHD
operates and services a host of energetic (explosives, propellants, and pyrotechnics) technical development centers, product manufacturing facilities and equipment in support of the Department of Defense.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The senior project manager will perform the following functions:

Manage complex engineering and manufacturing projects.

Coordinate resources across various projects.

Ensure execution of manufacturing and engineering milestones.

Analyze technical evaluation reports to develop milestone decision and full materiel release packages. Assist in the development and auditing of the technical data packages (TDPs) for various products system developments.

Attend design reviews and provide input.

Monitor cost, performance, and schedule of assigned projects and programs.

Identify risks to performance and schedule of assigned projects and programs.

Review management support documentation such as PERT or GANTT charts for assigned projects.

Support record management. Ensure on-time delivery of products.
Qualifications:
The following experience is required: Fifteen or more years relevant project management experience managing similar technical programs and projects.

Working knowledge of NAVSEA OP-5, Ammunition and Explosives Safety Ashore, or industry-equivalent safety documents.

SECRET security clearance; TS desirable. Additionally, the following attributes are desired:

Recognized technical expert in project management with a focus on energetics development and manufacturing.

Expert ability to track project progress, including costs and schedules, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Expertise in coordinating manufacturing and engineering milestones and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Effective at identifying and managing risks to project timelines and developing mitigation strategies.

Capable of managing resources across various teams and ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Familiarity with SMART manufacturing technologies and data acquisition systems. EOE AA M/F/Vet/DisabilityBack
