The mid-level project manager provides project management support to the management and technical staff at Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division (NSWC IHD).
NSWC IHD
operates and services a host of energetic (explosives, propellants, and pyrotechnics) technical development centers, product manufacturing facilities and equipment in support of the Department of Defense.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The mid-level project manager will perform the following functions:

Coordinate execution of manufacturing milestones for assigned projects.

Analyze technical evaluation reports in order to develop milestone decision and full materiel release packages in support of production for assigned projects.

Assist in the detailed production and development of various products.

Assist in the development and auditing of the technical data package for various products system developments.

Monitor cost, performance and schedule of assigned projects and programsIdentify risks to performance and schedule of assigned projects and programsAttend design reviews and provide input.

Review non-controlled documentation, transcription of documents, data entry.

Review management support documentation such as PERT or GANTT charts for assigned projects.

Support records management.
Qualifications:
The following experience is required: At least five years of relevant project management experience in similar technical programs and projects. SECRET security clearance; TS desirable. Additionally, the following attributes are desired:

Working knowledge of NAVSEA OP-5, Ammunition and Explosives Safety Ashore, or industry-equivalent safety documents.

Expertise in project management with a focus on energetics development and manufacturing.

Ability to track project progress, including costs and schedules, in a fast-paced environment.

Expertise in coordinating manufacturing and engineering milestones and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

Effective at identifying and managing risks to project timelines and developing mitigation strategies.

Capable of effective communication and collaboration.

Familiarity with SMART manufacturing technologies and data acquisition systems. EOE AA M/F/Vet/Disability
