Job Description:
Who They Are Our client is a 20-year-old window and door replacement company. This leading commercial window installation firm is recognized as a valued and trusted partner in the commercial real estate market, specifically for new construction and replacement in the multifamily space. They are looking for an Assistant Project Manager in the DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia area! This person will be on-site daily managing the day-to-day operations of the project as the ambassador of the organization to the Property Managers and others involved in the process. This person needs to be detailed-oriented, comfortable working in fast-paced environments, and ideally has some construction experience. What You'll Do Manage multiple commercial glass and glazing projects simultaneously. Review contracts, specifications, architectural drawings, and shop drawings. Develop project schedules, budgets, and procurement plans. Coordinate with general contractors, architects, engineers, and suppliers. Oversee material takeoffs, ordering, fabrication, and delivery schedules. Prepare and track project budgets and cost forecasts. Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and billing processes. Approve vendor and subcontractor invoices. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Work closely with superintendents and field crews to ensure proper installation. Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality control, and safety compliance. Coordinate manpower planning and subcontractor scheduling. Resolve field issues related to curtain wall, storefront, window wall, punch openings, and specialty glazing systems. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and general contractors. Lead project meetings and provide regular status updates. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and industry partners. Ensure compliance with local building codes and industry standards. Maintain adherence to OSHA and company safety policies. Ensure proper documentation and closeout procedures are completed. What You'll Need Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent industry experience). 5+ years of project management experience in commercial glass and glazing. Strong knowledge of curtain wall, storefront systems, aluminum framing, insulated glass units (IGUs), and punch windows and doors. Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications. Experience with construction management software and Xcel. (Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, etc.). Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Strong budgeting and cost-control experience. OSHA 30 certification preferred.
