This entry-level role within our Energy Project Management career path is designed for individuals developing their project management expertise. You'll manage smaller-scale projects with limited subconsultants and scope, serving as a foundational opportunity for learning and growth under the guidance of senior Project Managers. As a key contributor to project success, you'll coordinate technical staff, manage subconsultants, and liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution from initiation through completion.

Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of assigned projects, including technical staff, subcontractors, and suppliersDevelop and communicate the Project Management Plan (objectives, scope, schedule, budget, quality standards, safety protocols)Develop project-specific scope of work and contract documents in compliance with client requirementsManage project scope, schedules, and budgets; implement cost-control measures as neededUphold quality standards and oversee QA processes throughout project executionServe as primary point of contact for clients, addressing concerns professionally and promptlyManage compliance with contract scope, schedule, fee, and change ordersIdentify, assess, and manage project risks; develop mitigation and contingency plansMentor less experienced staff and support their training and developmentProvide input on and implement project-specific safety plansNegotiate contract terms, scope, and fees with clients/subconsultantsDevelop project schedules from inception to completionReport monthly proposal/business development results and project performanceAchieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target (typically 8V%+)Prepare monthly project completion reports, progress reports, and inter-practice agreementsManage project cash flow (WIP/AR) and provide monthly comments to Finance and OperationsParticipate in project opportunity evaluation, consultant selection, and proposal preparationIdentify new business opportunities and participate in client presentationsSupport project closeout, including write-ups and photos for marketing/resume useFully manage technical deliverables required in contract scopeCompare field data to design plans; conduct site visits and gather dataPrepare design phases and deliverables for approvalMaintain knowledge of current state and/or municipal policies, procedures, and guidelines

Required:

Bachelor's degree in a related field (AEC industry) + 2 years of related professional experience, or 6 years of equivalent professional experienceOrganizational and time-management skills; ability to prioritize tasksExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsTechnical knowledge in the relevant project fieldKnowledge of project management software and toolsUnderstanding of industry standards related to project management, quality assurance, and safetyStrong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environmentNegotiation skills for managing contracts, scope changes, and stakeholder agreements
