Assistant Project Manager Job Description The Assistant Project Manager supports the successful delivery of a high-profile, multi‑year stadium renovation project by coordinating documentation, managing project workflows, and partnering closely with project managers, superintendents, and vendors. This role focuses on interior construction projects, including private, federal, and local government contracts up to approximately $1.8M in value, and requires strong communication, organization, and construction management skills. Responsibilities Assist the Project Manager with multiple interior construction projects for private, federal, and local government clients, including contracts up to approximately $1.8M in value. Oversee an assigned area of the stadium renovation project, ensuring work aligns with project plans, specifications, and schedules. Create, maintain, and manage project documentation, including submittal logs, transmittals, change orders, project directories, and other document control tools. Provide comprehensive document and paperwork support, including preparation, tracking, and follow-up for RFIs, submittals, and change orders. Coordinate and manage various contracts and vendor relationships to support project delivery and maintain project timelines. Interact regularly with superintendents and field personnel to obtain information from the job site, clarify issues, and support field operations. Support schedule management by assisting with project scheduling activities and monitoring progress against milestones. Adapt and apply innovative and effective construction management techniques to maximize project performance and efficiency. Assist with project financials as needed, which may include tracking costs, supporting change order pricing, and monitoring budget impacts. Collaborate with project team members to ensure clear, timely, and professional written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders. Handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines across several active projects. Use construction management and document management software, such as Procore, to support project coordination, document control, and reporting. Support commercial construction project coordination activities, including scheduling, document control, and communication among stakeholders. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned to meet business and client needs as the project evolves. Essential Skills Proven experience supporting high-profile construction projects or high-visibility customers. Hands-on experience with construction project management or construction management, particularly in commercial construction. Strong experience providing document and paperwork support, including RFIs, submittals, and change orders. Ability to create and manage submittal logs, transmittals, change orders, and project directories. Experience with project coordination in a construction environment. Proficiency with construction management and schedule management software. Experience using construction-related document management systems, such as Procore. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with field staff, vendors, and project stakeholders. Solid organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities. Ability to adapt management techniques to improve project performance and support project goals. Additional Skills & Qualifications Skilled in project engineering or a similar project support role in the construction industry. Experience working on interior-based contracts and commercial construction projects. Familiarity with managing contracts and vendor relationships on construction projects. Comfort working on high-profile, large-scale, and multi-year construction efforts. Interest in growing with a rapidly expanding construction organization working on major joint-venture projects. Work Environment This role is primarily site-based on a large, multi-year stadium renovation project. You will work in a dynamic construction environment alongside a substantial project team and a large number of on-site employees from multiple organizations. The work involves regular interaction with field personnel, superintendents, and vendors in an active commercial construction setting, using construction management and document management technologies such as Procore and scheduling software. The pace is fast and collaborative, with a focus on safety, coordination, and timely project delivery. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Upper Marlboro, MD.
